I bought my first ever maxi dress yesterday. I remember seeing them on the tv when I was little in the late sixties/early seventies. Has anyone else got into the trend of wearing maxi dresses lately? I think they are great and they flatter everyone - slim, larger, tall, short, pregant. I don`t have the confidence just yet to walk about in one. I will just swan about the house in it and wear it on a beach somewhere.

I wore them first time round..... now they can disguise a multitude of sins!

Yes boxtops they do hide a multitude of sins :-) To be honest, as I said before, they flatter everyone. I can remember in the late 60s/early 70s mini skirts were all the rage, then it was midi skirts, them maxi skirts. I would have loved to be in a mini skirt with white patent boots. By the time maxi skirts came into fashion, we were ready to move onto the glam rock era so the trend never really took off. That is why I`m quite surprised to see that they are so popular now.
Just as your thread came up I was telling my OH that I was thinking of buying a cotton maxi dress as I am off to Turkey next month with my daughter. I normally only wear trousers

Euphemia - a maxi dress might be just the ticket. Not only are they cool to wear, they are modest enough to wear in somewhere like Turkey (if you`re going into the cities)
Thanks 237SJ - and it'll cover a multitude of sins!
I love them and wear them all the time.
