Got a card through the door from DHL saying...

... sorry we missed you for a package delivery.This was from Hong Kong.I thought the price I payed was fully inclusive but then I had a phone call saying I owed £36.50 Vat before my package would be re -delivered.I said I would collect it from my local DHL office.This I did and not a mention of outstanding vat..If this was a scam then it must be an insider job in DHL

i ordered from america and had to pay tax to the post office,something to do with vat, i think it depends on what you buy from abroad. mine was dvd's

i dont know how you have managed to avoid paying by collecting, DHL are usually pretty good at ensuring its collected.

this happened to me with a pair of shoes they sell in the US and not here thought I had paid everything then got a letter from Parcel Post [ whoever] and they said I had to pay another £29 for vat and handling, you dont have much choice you have to pay, but I have never ordered anying else since.
If youve a friend or realtive in the US send your item to them and get them to send over to you as a gift and get them to say its worth half of what you paid.
