When you buy them off Amazon, does the money still go to the artists, the same as if you bought it from a shop?

It's better to buy from the artist's website if it has that facility. A chap from a band told me they got �6 from CDs sold on the band website and about �2-3 for CDs on Amazon. I always try to buy CDs from the artist direct now.

The artists get nothing from Amazon sales if it is a second hand copy which has been sold. Neither do authors when their books are sold second hand. This is the same in charity shops and other auction web sites when goods are being re-sold. The music and literary industries are trying to do something about it, however, I disagree with fees being paid a second time: they've already had one set of payment for the first copy, and it's the same book or CD being sold. Surely once it's yours you can do what you like with it.
