Healthier Lunchbox
10 Answers
I'm a courier driver (male, 28), so my day is made up of lots of driving, and frequently stop to make deliveries.
I'm looking to make my lunchbox healthier (seeing as I am developing slightly more of a curvy physique than I'd like), and wanted a few tips. I tend to eat a lot in the day to keep the energy up, but there's a lot of rubbish in there. I'm going to cut out the bread rolls in favour of pasta, but what else could i put in there to replace the chocolate bars, mini sausages, cheese-sticks, etc.
Any help appreciated!

pasta os a bad idea-it will leave you feeling tired and heavy/ bloated. Stick with a chicken/ tuna/ salmon/ ham salad, incorporatin g different veg, such as cucumber, tomato, lettuce, celery, or what you like, add in some dried herbs and black pepper with a healthy dressing of your choice, with some rye crispbread or crackers, instead of bread. Very tasty....

Very tasty. Hummous and carrot sticks are nice, you can buy a big bag of carrot sticks for £1 in sainsburys-it sounds boring but it is actually moreish. When you get bored of salad try a couple of wraps like wats said above-you can make your own cheaper though, a chicken breast grilled with sides is also nice, and you can get low calorie chocolate bars that taste fantastic-if you deprive yourself your going to give in. Slim fast do this sexy choccie bar-heavenly chocolate or something its 95 cals and 59p from boots or superdrug and superdrug is doing 3 for 2 on all slimfast snacks which i eat although im not on slimfast diet. Theyve got pretzels, bbq tortilla mini bags, cheesy triangles, all 95 cals each. As u drive id avoid potato or bread with lunch as it leaves u feeling tired as its harder to digest-if you must have bread, for sandwich say keep to wholemeal or rye bread. (you might not like rye bread so try it first before you turn into a sarnie) drink water and fruit juices-sweet fizzy drinks dip your energy levels.
Update - Lunch will consist of:
An apple
A banana
An orange
An individual pot of tomato houmous with carrot sticks
Cheese flavoured oatcakes
2 Go Ahead! Strawberry bars
1 low-fat lemon slice
And to remind me who I am:
2 fun-size milky ways
An individual marmite cheddar wedge
1 packet of hula hoops.
Not exactly an exhilerating line-up, but it's probably a step in the right direction.

Sorry I can not help you on the food front, though jacket potatoes could be the answer to everything. I would really like to ask you what firm you are working for, as would like to do the same. Do you work for a company, or do you work for yourself? Do you own your own van, or do you rent one?
