When I was 14 and walking to school through the local health centre car park, i heard what I thought was a puppy whimpering on the HC door step. Turned out to be a baby wrapped in blanket. I took him to school, as mobile phones weren't around then, and id no money for the phone box. I'm ashamed to say that beyond getting my photo in the local paper, i took no further interest in him, and never found out whether he was reunited with his mum or anything.

mrsmaveric, the person that restores faith in human nature is you, not the person who left you a tenner. You didnt have to hand it in but you took the trouble and it was very good of you. What they did was got their purse back and in front of the police gave something for you. Nobody saw you find it except your dog, and he wasnt going to say anything!
found bout 300 pound in shopping mall. Was just on floor, picked it up and looked around and security bloke nodded in direction of disabled boy and carer about to buy meal, bows wallet was wide open. Went up and said 'think you dropped this' and gave it back. I dont think the boy should have been carrying that much.
I left an O2 bag on a bench outside my local Asda store last Monday, just forgot about it and walked into the store, did my shopping leisurely, and the when I got to the checkout I realised that I didn't hve the O2 bag containing a new phone!.....I was beside myself!......I shared the information with the checkout girl, saying that I needed to run back to the bench to check, she was so helpful, she sent the security guard to look there, no luck, he then checked at customer services, and thankfully a very kind couple had found it and handed it in there!..........I was so relieved!.....I can only thank the staff at the Asda store for being so helpful, and to the couple tht found the bag, they have truly restored my faith in human nature!..............Bless them whoever they are!...........
Left my shoulder bag on Bournemouth station. Did not realise until I got to Brockenhurst. Staff could not have been more helpful. They phoned to find out if my bag was there. It was. Returned to Bournemouth. Lovely young chap produced my bag, he did not make me feel like an idiot (which I had been). Nothing missing from my bag. Unfortunately no information about who had found it. Escorted to my train (no charge for extra journeys) by said dishy young man who made me feel that I was doing him a favour for having a problem. Extra careful now when travelling. All concerned gave a great service. Did write to say thanks. What can I lose next........?
