Buying a new t.v
12 Answers
The time has finally come for my to update my big old bulky tele and I was wondering what type of tv I should buy. I don't know what the difference is between t.vs. I keep seeing teles that have LED OR LCD screens or they are 3D or whatever. I want it to last me a while, any advice on what is the best tele to get would be very helpful. Thank you

Free 5 year guarantee (something that other store's charge as much as £150 for three years)

We bought a LCD tv which I am more than happy with, but if you got the money then it might be better to go for a LED.
From what I have read and heard I would stay clear of Plasma Tv's.
Hope this Helps.

Could I point out that an LED TV *is* an LCD TV- the backlighting is done by hundreds of LEDs rather than a handful of conventional lamps. This means they are more energy efficient and slimmer and the picture*can* appear better (other things being equal). However, a good LCD will be better than a poor LED.
My choice (and Which?'s) would be a Panasonic from John Lewis or Richer Sounds. Very good prices and (all important) excellent after-care at both retailers.

I think that's an unfair review Brionon. I have a Samsung 40inch LCD and bought it after a lot of help on here. I have to say it is the best tv i've ever owned and compared to a lot of my friends who buy for the size rather than brand, the quality is 100 times better.
