Never complained about anything before but I was so mad this morning. Received a coupon to claim extra Clubcard points but said it had to be scanned in store to received the free clubcard voucher. Phoned them to say I do not shop in store as I am disabled but have shopped on line with them since it has been possible to do so, so how do I go about redeeming my coupon? Was told simply "you can't, you have to go to a store" and when I said I wanted to complain was told to email them. I have therefore sent them an email accusing them of discrimination against disabled people who can only shop online. Why am I now worrying about whether I did the right thing?
I think you have done the right thing. I shop on line, and never use the coupons that have to be redeemed in store. I got mine this morning and was wondering about how to get it scanned in store. Well done, I might send in a complaint as well!!
IF what you say is the true picture and IF it happened in the way you describe - then I say well done to you. Perhaps, as all call centres enquiries are 'maybe monitored for training purposes' at least subsequent people won't have to be contend with 'you can't, you have to go to the store'. Honestly, for a disabled person to be told that is unacceptable in my book.
Yeh, good for you Jan. Complain away and although you know you are perfectly within your rights, its not only about discrimination, its about shokingly poor customer service. No-one who shops online regularly wants to have to get up and go to the store to redeem a voucher regardless of their ability to do so. I FEEL LIKE SHOUTING AT THEM NOW and I'm not even a customer of theirs!
Well done, keep complaining, if necessary go higher than their customer service. You can't be the only one in that position,so in my opinion it is discrimination.Good Luck
