go into store and ask what discount they will offer if you are buying both. Most decent stores will offer a discount or freebies if you ask, even at sale time.
No - and I would never buy anything from that awful company!
i get 10% of at comet
red - you said "decent" stores - doesn't apply.
ok gingejbee, so you dont like them. Ive had good deals and service from them though, discounts included so Im happy to recommend.
I use a local independent electrical retailer and always get a really good deal. The old saying is very true.....if you don't ask, you don't get....
red: not just me. In the recent Which? "100 shops rated by their customers" report, Currys was at position 94 out of 100.
there are 100 shops that sell washer/dryers?
what..the does seem to be looking specifically for Currys though, so i answered.

You could also try the independants (euronics stores perhaps) and again ask if any discount could be given when buying both at same time. Again i have done this when fitting out kitchen with all my white goods in one go. They even beat all online prices though i did buy 6 items at once.
this is comets ebay shop any good? http://portal.ebay.co.uk/comet/
find the one you like online at the lowest price available and print off the details go into Currys/comet/and anywhere else in the neighbourhood and ask them to beat the price.... and this is one time when cash helps you might get lucky... also consider graded items where there is superficial damage to the casing they are often really heavily discounted
Wish I had money off vouchers for currys. Can't afford to eat at my local Indian every night :-(
i always use this site as a guide, http://www.appliancesonline.co.uk and see if the stores will match the price. John Lewis did for me on a washer dryer and also gave me it a pound cheaper than this site. so it is always worth asking in store once you have checked the deals out online.

Thanks everyone I have my eye on a model which has a lot of money off on the Curry's website, it is also not sold everywhere only some stores for more. But the drier I will try to find cheaper else where and ask Curry's to match the price.
May be a good idea to avoid Comet as well:

Unsure why. Surely one does not take on a company at any price in order to lose money on it. Somehow I don't believe it is just bought for asset stripping puposes; there's an incentive to keep it going.

yeah i work in insolvency so I can smell a rat a mile off :D
OG: a bit like they managed to keep MFI going. Not.
