I only started buying stuff from the internet about 6 months ago, and have so far ordered about 20 items, of which I didn't receive 3. Is this par for the course when it comes to internet shopping?

I emailed the senders of the latest two items not to arrive and it turns out that one of the receipt failures was not down to a dishonest element within the delivery chain. It turns out that the item was never sent (even though I got am email telling me that the item had been sent). They were out of stock. Got a full refund. Still awaiting news on the second item.
