On similar lines, we had a Christmas party and brought out all the old booze we never drink only to realise that some of it was gifts from people we had invited! Only realised during the party and quickly hid it away again.

i will put labels on mine in case i give them back their pressent
no, I would never do that. I would give things away (or put them in a charity bag), but not under the pretence that I had bought them for that person.

I have loads of chocolates here and will be giving them away, or maybe take them into work next week.
The unwanted choccies have all been eaten. By me!

I didn't have any gifts that I don't want or like. My family tend to ask me what I would like and then buy it for me :)
Lets just say that the diet has gone belly up :o(
Re-wrapping presents seems a waste, if you carefully open one corner just enough to see what it is then you can use the same wrapping paper if you decide you don't want it :)
my gifts have been useful this year
No, I wouldn't do that - but I will donate some to fundraising raffles. We have more bottles of port than we know what to do with!! Hic! :o)
tut, there's no secreat about what to do with port.

Also, pass it to the left. (Or port, as sailors call it.)

Further etiquette:
"If the decanter does not come full circle back to the host, it is impolite to ask for it directly. Instead the host asks the individual closest to the decanter, if he knows the bishop of Norwich or any other village in England. The question is not to provoke a reply but action the immediate passing of the port. Should the unfortunate offender answer the question by saying "No," is told that "the bishop is an awfully good fellow, but he never passes the port!" sparking, hopefully, the individual to realize he is hogging the decanter."
All my presents this year were exactly what I wanted and one in particular I could not re wrap if I tried.♥
I am wearing some of my presents right now (jammies and dressing gown from one daughter) whilst looking at the present my oh got me (PC monitor). Later on I shall be bathing and using the smellies that my oh's lovely parents bought for me. When I get dressed tomorrow I will no doubt be wearing one of the belts my other daughter bought for me :)
Haaa! Yes, indeed, but the problem is, jno, no matter how much we pass it (so to speak), we'll still be passing this lot when the new batch arrives next Christmas! :o)
Couldn't you lay that port down for your posterity?
No problems here a shirt off my sister, a very nice shirt, and a BQ gift card. made up
I just wouldn't do that, it seems very rude to me.
A winestopper...I have no need for such frippery :)
I couldn't bring myself to do it. Also, I am such a bimbo if I did do it, I would end up giving that person the same pressie back!
