With a bit of luck I will become an "aunty" today (not a proper aunty, but one of my closest friends is due to become a daddy for the second time - C section is booked for today).

Any ideas as to a nice gift to send when we get the news? Mum HATES flowers and doesn't drink. They've got LOADS of baby clothes, since mum kept them all after the last little one was born. I'm guessing she is going to be laid up for a few weeks as well after a c-section. I was thinking something nice for mum and dad.

I'd like to send my 3 year old god daughter something so she feels that not everything is concentrated on the new arrival? I was going to send her a "COngrutulations on becoming a "Big Sister"" card at the very least.

Inspiration would be appreciated! x

I like the big sister cards..mabye a dolly or something for her dolly so she can "help mum" with her new sister? (too cute)

Id get the baby vouchers for somewhere that can be spent when needed...or what about a star? Xx
For mum and dad home made babysitting vouchers if you like small children ...and maybe a photo album
for big sister how about taking her out for a little trip to the shops give mum a break with a little present on the way home

Some nice ideas here! Loving the star idea - we (me and my other mate) could get both little girls a star! Really like the photo album idea too.

She's got loads of dollies, Tinks. She's actually a bit of tomboy too. Lord knows how we will get her into a pretty dress to be my bridesmaid!

Your ideas are lovely Rowan - unfortunately, they live at the other end of the country. Big Sis LOVES going out with Aunty BM when she goes to stay though, because she gets thoroughly spoilt!!! Although Aunty BM does find it a little difficult to be woken up at 6am with "Aunty BM, Aunty BM, please get up Aunty BM I need to show you my x, y, z........".
Send her a bear factory teddy with a little message like whoopee you are a big sister recorded on the voice chip

Rowan, I love that idea! I am officially an aunty again!!! Baby girl was born at 6.30 weighing over 9lbs (thank god for C-sections!). Mum and baby both fine. I am still crying with joy.
