Ladies purses and necessesities
55 Answers
Im always amazed how some folk carry around great big bulging purses around with them. Not with money but wads of credit cards, photos, receipts etc. I actually hate big purses. I prefer just a little clip purse for small change and carry notes and only the credit card Im likely to use that day in a small plastic bank money bag. Leaves much more room in my handbag for other things, like my phone, a small tape measure, a credit card size magnifying glass ( for reading small print on labels when shopping), small screwdriver, address book/diary, safety pins , comb, clean hankie
What necesseties do you carry around ?

I have a long purse which takes unfolded notes and my cards, and coin - but it poppers shut so it can't get too fat.
In my handbag - tissues, headache tablets, often a small bottle of water, phone, Tiger Balm, two or three ballpoint pens, tiny hairbrush.

I wish women's clothes had proper pockets, then you wouldn't need a handbag at all.
On the other hand, chaps in Italy and France carry a manbag because stuffing their pockets ruins the lines of their tailoring.
However I never wear tailoring so this wouldn't trouble me.
Big poachers pockets is what's needed.

Its a very small screwdriver for the screws in my glasses. They are often coming loose, although I dont wear them when going out now, I guess Its just habit keeeping it in my bag, cos you never know when you might need it, as with all the other necessities. There isnt any info in my address book / diary. Mainly just emergency telephone numbers and birthdates.Again, its only small.
Boxtops, I forgot to mention headache tablets ( for everybody elses use )

When you go out and spend money you get given a receipt. My receipts go into the wallet half of my purse, along with bank notes. I also need bank card, credit card, boots advantage card, coop shopping card and library card etc. You cant be very spontaneous if you have nothing with you except one credit card and a plastic money bag! I dont have any photos with me but everything else is kind of essential.
No only cuttings with permission but I have been known to approach strangers in their gardens and admire a plant very effusively in the hope I get offered a but... and yes forgot folding shopping bag, or plastic carrier, and clean knickers... old habits die hard and you never knew when you'd get the offer too good to turn down...
