Victory was snatched from my "supposedly skinny" jaws of defeat ;-)

I hate women who complain about being a size 10 ( the operative word there being "complain"). It's rather like telling me that my aspiration for a four star Caribbean cruise and a Range Rover is their equivalent of a pedalo ride at Weston Super Mare and a push bike. I was so happy to have preserved what was left of my figure after my second baby, and was monumentally destroyed when a friend complained to me that she was devastated as she found herself in Primark fitting into a size 10! Well we all have dreams sweetheart!
Of course the only difference between me and Kate Moss is a few pounds . . . ( let's say 50 ish) and a few inches (nothing a good pair of Jimmy's wouldn't fix). And yes I could make it into a size 10 one day . . . with industrial strength laxatives, some bone removal surgery and the dust and steam diet ( as seen in Heat).
What I don't understand and the reason for my rant is the following:
I took 10 pairs of size 10 jeans (Bootcut) from a variety of high street stores and found following results:
40% did fit (without any grimacing, shoe horning and emergency stitching)
30% were like trying to squeeze toothpaste back into a tube (it just ain't gonna happen)
10% required a little coaxing!
20% were rather generous around the hips.
What's going on? What stores do you favour for optimistic sizes ;-)

I luurve Gap jeans they seem to accommodate my chunky thighs exceptionally well. Plus because they seem to be in American sizes I can walk around in them with the smug knowledge that the label reads a size 6! However any other shop I gotta try them on I'm anything from a 14-10 (only in Gap) ;-) i think my thighs are the issue if I'm honest.
I am horrified at the article vanity sizing! That's scary! Anyone else also find that F&F tesco small? Even baby gros and kids clothes seem a little snug!
I've decided that being a size 10 (well . . . When I achieve it) is NOT a crime against humanity and I will be making a concerted effort to lose my last few baby pounds, as soon as all the Galaxy choc egg has been eaten, along with the catering size pack of hot cross buns and the rest of the Easter cake ;-)
