Marks and Spencers skirts - where are they?
26 Answers
Hope you don't mind me having a rant! I am SO frustrated! I do not usually wear trousers for going out in - but like long skirts 39" length (size 16-18) A few years ago there were lots to choose from in all the shops but last year and this year there are hardly any skirts around at all. What do people wear? Trousers all the time? Not very feminine in my opinion! In Per Una they advertise a skirt but by the time I can reach my nearest store 20 miles away they are so popular they are all sold out and on the website too. Surely that must tell M&S that skirts ARE in demand .... I am so fed up with trying to find some of the size, length and colour I want. Anyone else have this problem?

I do like long skirts but I like them to come to below the ankleif I wear them at all.I seen lots of long skirts recently but unfortunately can't remember the shop I was in... it would have been one of the ten a penny shops though, Next or Dorothy Perkins or Wallace or something so maybe have a look in there.
I'm not exactly skinnie minnie but wear trousers or jeans mostly . I can't see why larger women can't wear trousers .I'm tall so get away with it .
Bootcut black uniform Marks ones which are slimming .I did however buy a couple of skirts in Marks recently .Linen blend maxi length to cover my ordnance survey map legs .Very nice .One black ,one stone colour .I'll only wear them in the summer (if we get one) anyway .

I wear white Summer linen trousers - I love those to go out in. Its really just Winter weight ones I also have trouble finding tops to go with, I'm very short waisted so every top I buy is far too long over trousers or jeans - they come down right over my bottom and cling around my legs and look ridiculous! :(
Small tip with M&S if you haven't already tried it Log on daily to their site go straight to new arrivals and then the section you want ie skirts. If you find anything you like order, before they sell out, to be delivered to your local branch free of postage. You could order a couple of sizes. I have never asked to try them on in store but I am sure they would let you, then anything unwanted can then be returned in store with immediate refund
Good tip ubasses, thanks. I ought to have done that with a beautiful Autograph cobalt blue pure silk shirt they were heavily advertising (Twiggy) they started advertising and by the time I managed to get to the big Fosse Park Leicester store, they had all gone and none have been in store or online since, which I think is so ridiculous after all that effort advertising. The short timeline of stock is getting silly - they say its to keep clothes more exclusive but I don't care if other people have the same shirt as me, I just wear what I like and what suits me!
The other day I was in the hospital waiting area for over halt an hour (not for me) & it was very busy & I noticed how many women of all ages were wearing trousers, I think I saw about 3, so the shops have done their homework Ann.
M&S have got loads on line and their site is so easy to use. If there's a prob. you can return it to one of their stores, its so easy I do all my M&S shopping on line.

I never wear skirts. I feel really old and frumpy in them. They are not the most flattering of garments in my opinion, unless you are young and leggy. I certainly don't think trousers are unfeminine and as long as you wear the right tops with them they can flatter all shapes and sizes.
I am however really into dresses over leggings at the moment. I refuse to wear tights!! YUK!!
