Selling CDs on eBay

Having a bit of a clear out.

I've not used eBay to sell things before, although i have helped others list things.

I just wondered if you thought it would be worth selling Cds individually, or as a bulk sale?

Or would it be worth bundling together certain things? For example, if I had all the singles of some artist or other, would it make sense (be more profitable) to sell them all together, or as individual elements?

All thoughts and experiences appreciated.

Playtrade is another option. The good thing about that is that your item is on sale until sold, not just 7 or 10 days, although the fees may amount to a fair chunck for things as cheap as a CD. They charge 10% of total + 50p. (+5% to withdraw playtrade funds rather than spending them on-site)

Ebay charge 10% of item price (excl. p&p), with paypal fees being 3.4% of total + 20p.

Unless you are selling something recent, you may have to charge no more than £2 each to shift em. Ebay would be the better option. On playtrade you may make 40p after postage and fees. On Ebay, assuming you charge £1 for postage, you could make 70p for each CD.

If you tried to sell cds in bulk you'd need to make at least £7 for every 10 to be better off. That may be difficult and risky considering you'd need to either set a low starting price to avoid an insertion fee, or pay an insertion fee for a higher starting price and risk it not selling. I guess you could try selling in bulk when there is a no-insertion-fee offer on.

they are sold on to Poundland by Music Magpie......they will only pay pennies for them....and beware if you include a Cliff Richard cd they deduct a fiver lol

Music Magpie paid me around 30p-49p for CD albums, They pay all postage costs.

If you type in the barcode numbers of your CD into Music Magpie it tells you how much they'd offer.I think you need to list at least 5 CDs

I'd never sell any of my CDs... I bought them for a reason (even if some of them seem a little sad now) and the money I could get back on them would never replace the memories I have of the reasons I bought them.

(I may make an exception for the new radicals album... that's just crap)
