Hi
One of my friends is moving into a new flat with her boyfriend and they don't have much between them so far but she was looking at getting some wine glasses but he is very much opposed to this as he says it is meant to be bad luck to buy your own wine glasses before your wedding and that they are meant to be a wedding gift.
I have never heard of this one and was wondering if any of you had or is he getting it confused with something else or just plain being stingey and not wanting to buy wine glasses when they could buy something else instead?
Thanks
Yeah she just wanted to choose them together, I don't think it's really a case of the money but he is adamant that its bad luck, myself and a couple of friends were thinking of getting them as a moving in present instead.
..mm..be real bad luck if you had nothing to sup your big red or champers out of...can't be doin' with drinking wine fom mugs.....
He could of course always drink from her pretty little slipper seeing they must be so "in lurve".....but her choice would then be a sweaty trainer or one of his wellies...Eugh!
No I havnet heard that one before. But then again I had never heard about watches before. My daughter says it is unlucky if your husband or partner buys you a new watch.? Anyone else heard that.?
Thinking about this Leapers, they have little yet she wants to bye wine glasses? this tell me there will be bad luck in the probability she can't afford to bye food but wine for the house, this is where the bad luck would start, correct me if I'm wrong.
I know it sounds bad TWR but the flat is fully furnished so they don't have to worry about all those sort of things and are both earning but if you have wine then you don't remember you're hungry so much i would think.
I haven't heard about the watches either lilacben but there seems there are a few of these bad luck theories around that no one has heard of! We'll all be cursed at this rate!
Heseltine would say it's pity that some got broken LOL Do you know anyone who has managed to keep a whole setting of each of the wine glasses? There's always a time when the number gets below the critical level. Harlequin 'sets' become the normal 'sets', in the meantime.' Now, where did we put that Tommy Tippee mug for mother-in-law's claret ?
Tired and had a glass of wine but.......does this mean that when I have broken the last of my wine glasses I will have to re-marry or have bad luck????
