Most defo kool kitty.  Wedges rock.

My winter boots/shoes were wedges. My summer shoes/sandals are wedges too.

Mind you I was wearing them in the 70's too!

Yes I love them as long as they're not the heavy looking ones & I'm hoping to buy some at the weekend.

Smudge you beat me to it I wore them in the 70's too & I remember teetering across the stepping stones in Dovedale in some once!  Luckily it was a very quiet day so there were no ramblers to 'tut' at me. (I hadn't known that was where I'd be going before I set out).

can we also have a return to cheese-cloth shirts please.
Oh yes Chillum, the ones that you knotted at the waist for me please!
mmmm, takes me back to the first stirrings in my youthful loins.
Yes I used to like cheese-cloth tops too - nowadays it's cheese-cloth tea towels!

chillum and robinia what are you on about?

Kool Kitty

Please help i don't have a clue.

I'll try to tell you while you throw a bucket of cold water over Chillum.

They were thin crinkly cotton, usually white/checked & always worn very tight.  When you washed them they went even tighter & scratchy until you'd had them on a while - (not so many fabric softeners then but we were tough).  They didn't need ironing either!  I liked the short sleeved ones  that just came to your waist & tied.  There's a piccy of a long sleeved one here !!

i love wedges too and also remember them the first time round. The comfiest shoes i ever had was a pair of black and white wedges, I'm hoping that one day someone will make them again.

I also had several cheesecloth shirts, but i could never get my knot right - it took me ages. Once i'd managed it I tried to wash it that way, but my mum always got to it first and would undo it and then iron it, so I'd have to struggle all over again!

One of my favourite things was my suede panelled mini skirt - each panel was a different colour, and it fastened down the centre with silver press-studs! FABulous!

And i can't believe my daughter is wearing ponchos!!!

I used to pull mine down onto my waist so that it looked like a "maxi". (I was only about 8 at the time)

The cheese-cloth shirt also coincided  with organised bra discarding/burning on a national scale. For an impressionable young loon it was a fabulous time.

Sorry, kool kitty I seem to be in the minority here, but I don't like wedges, think they look ugly and clumsy!
