I have heard of companies who offer some sort of "deal" for a product, but when you sign up for the deal they also put in the small print that you also agree to join their "club" and pay so much a month.

Sounds like this has happened to you.

It just proves we all need to check carefully what we are siging up for.
From their T&Cs
You accept that you will receive a free scratch card from AllAboutPrizes for the price of £ 0,50. The cost entails postage for sending the scratch card and your membership certificate. Furthermore you accept membership at AllAboutPrizes with automatic renewal. The membership is free of charge for the first 14 days which is considered a trial period. If you do not wish to continue the subscription after the trial period, all you have to do is cancel your membership at least 10 days before the next billing date. After the expiration of the trial period, membership will cost £ 0.97 per day, which will be charged each month (30 days for £ 29) until you cancel your membership.
change your card number imediatley. call he bank etc say your card has been compromised
they will cancel that card and send you a new one
Cancelling the card will have no automatic effect on a continuous payment authority.

To properly cancel further payments you should cancel membership of this dubious company and specify to your bank or card issuer that you have stopped permission for the payments to continue.
Further to Zacs-Master comment, here is the link explaining how to cancel your account/membership.
