(I can't believe the is a website called toasterreviews.org.uk .... That's my day gone now :))
toaster reviews.....
I'm still looking for one that doesn't reduce your finger ends to burnt stumps when you do crumpets and try to get the buggers out.
A pair of tongs, Boo? But be sure to disconnect the toaster before you start to use them
The most reliable toaster and kettle we've ever had are Sainsbury's own, having got fed up of RH appliances which seemed to be programmed to last 1 year and 1 week. Not sure about the bagel though.

"Hi lift – This is a desirable feature in toaster as it helps to remove small sized breads from the toaster and can be used for crumpets too."
just look at the price of the magimix!!
I've got a wee pair of wooden tongs for getting stuff out of the toaster, no more burnt fingers!

I hate my toaster, burns half the bread and leaves the other half raw.
He asked for decent, not cheap. (but yeah, it's bloody expensive for a toaster)
Hi, I googled [i]toaster/4 slice/bagel function[i] worked a treat
^^^^ which is more than the italics did! ^^^^

Hmmm...yes...the bagel setting bacially means only one side of the toaster comes on, toasting the cut bagel side and not the back. I cannot seem to find any that clearly do that, aside from the rather ridiculously priced meagmix! haha! But thanks anyway...

Thanks - but I am after one of the long and thin type toasters, rather than the wide set four berth, if that makes sense? Thinking minimal intrusion in the kitchen on the worktop!
Yeah, thought that's what you meant, which is why I posted the meagmix one first, that's the only one I could find that met those requirements.
As an aside, you don't need to unplug the toaster to use these.

One of the Russell Hobbs toaster I had did bagels, useful for cheese on toast, and no, I didn't put the cheese in the toaster, but as my earlier posts said, RH have been unreliable.
what about this one, doesn't specifically mention bagels. but does have variable bread slots, also comes in white and I have seen the white one in Asda. http://www.breville.c...-4-slice-toaster.html
