it was a long time ago.
i persuaded them not to commit to where they spent their wedding night prior to flying away on their honeymoon the next day.
i drove them away from the reception to a hotel that i had booked and paid for.
it was a nice surprise for them not knowing where they would spend their wedding night.
i also drove them to the airport the next day.

The most useful wedding present we received was a cheque especially to pay the forthcoming Rates. (Now Council Tax).
It came with a suggetion that we put money aside each payday towards next year's bill and we did that.
It encouraged saving to pay for all things instead of using credit.
So somehow the cheque needs to be given with a suggestion that they open a building society account especially for saving as above.
