It is so unfair that all the supermarkets expect you to spend a huge amount of money to get a discount voucher - I have been a regular shopper at Sainsbury's for years but rarely need or can afford to spend more than £20 or £30 a time.

I don't drive...but feel the same when they give me bonus nectar points coupon-and I never spend enough to use it.
I think its unfair on single people, we and OH generally spend enough to get a money off next spend, but my elderly Mum doesn't .............
at smiths we give out vouchers every day that are £5 off when you spend £15 or sometimes £20, loads of people come back and use them. wish tesco or asda did that
oh and that's to every customer with no minimum spend
That's good Dotty, pity our local Smiths is so rubbishy and hardly stock anything now - they have stopped selling dvds and cds and have only a small display of pens and stationery. Plenty of books and magazines though ....
It's not done for reasons of fairness though- they may refer to it as a loyaly reward but they do it to encourage us to spend more
I thought WH Smiths was going to the wall. I was so surprised to see a new branch open nearby!
Morrisons offer a fuel voucher from time to time if you spend £50 - our nearest Morrisons garage is 20 miles away in Canterbury :-(

Their current offer is good - spend £40 a week for 6 weeks and get £25 off your Christmas shop. We easily spend £40....
Ann - I agree. WHS is a shadow of what it used to be. I'm surprised that it's still in business!
Like so many offers, useless to those people who live alone.
I know people on their own who spend £40 a week on shopping, daisynonna, including pet food and all other stuff.
hope not i intend working there until i retire, they're doing fine, did you not see the mid-year results? they own funky pigeon and have the Kobo readers in and all's well, the managing director actually visited our store today and we got 9/10....unheard of! well pleased. the reason they stopped selling cds and dvds in towcentre stores was because people stole them
Taking into account toiletries, cleaning products, pets and food I'm surprised people can do it for much less than £40.
I can easily spend £40 per week...and a bit more. But never all at once-and not in the same place. Depending on buses means I never can carry that much...and I spread my shopping out.
I think nowadays £40 doesn't buy much any way,not if you also need to buy cat food.

But people who spend £50 or £60 are still going to spend that much, so they wouldn't lose out by giving vouchers for people who spend say £20, as we probably can't afford to spend much on petrol either!
