It's my girlfriends birthday in August and she has said she only wants me to spend 10 for a gift.  She said it would have to be imaginative.

Could anyone give me some ideas please?

I wouldlike it to be a romantic present as we have been together 9 years.

My partner will be 31 years old.

Thanks in advance

Some suggestions - get a mug or cup from a card shop that says something slushy about her or your relationship.

Get her a T-shirt (plain) and use your pc to put a message on it.

Get a box of chocs, open it and under each one leave her a romantic message.

Silver earrings

A single red rose and a pair of sexy/romantic undies

Dont buy soap, cooking equipment or pot pourri!!! lol

Think about special times or places that you shared together, and get something that relates to it.Girls remember occasions ,generally, more than boys, and I imagine she would appreciate the fact that you remembered as well.Maybe somewhere you went on holiday, first date, where you met?Good luck!
um make a card and run a bath for her, put some candles in the bathroom and scatter rose petals on the floor, then get in with her .....
Try World Gifts - what could be better then helping to save a childs life

Does she mean it about the 10 tho?

Or is she talking in womans code?

When my boyfriend asked me what I wanted I said 'oh nothing much just something small and personal.' Luckily for him he cracked the code and got me a nice gold charm bracelet. It cost around 40, nothing too elaborate, but very pretty. He was sweating when he gave it to me but my response let him know he did good.

She may mean it about the 10, but I just thought I'd give you something to think about, just in case.

How about printing a chequebook of IOUs for things you know she enjoys, e.g. a backrub, a day free of housework, an indoor picnic etc etc.

How about making a scrapbook of all your memories, buy a funky notbook from WHS, and then spend a few hours printing off images off the net (you have to love colour printers at work), holiday meories, picturs of places you have been, loads of significant things. In 9 years you will have loads of them, you simply need to brainstorm, print and stick. I did it last year as a xmas present, I had loads of wierd things in it, you just need significant pictures. It shows you have put loads of effort in, you have thought about her and you have also treasured thoes memories too. She will love you for it, guaranteed, and the best thing is you can add to it in years to come.

Whatever you do I hope it goes down well.

an engagement ring. just a thought.

Make a brainstorm of all the things that you love about your girlfriend and know she likes. (you can give her the brainstorm too!) You will get inspiration. I agree she won't mind if you spend a bit more than 10 but she wants you to be thoughtful.

What about 31 small gifts that mean something (I mean really small - a bar of her favourite chocolate, a picture frame with a fave picture in)?

My Dad got my Mum 40 red smarties (amongst other things) for her 40th. And yes, that meant he bought loads of smarties and sorted them so that 40 were in one packet!! And he got her 3 red roses (one for each of us children) delivered at work, home and in the supermarket. Aaaah what a romantic!!

Romantic? Well I know www.firebox.com does alot of "different" gift ideas.

I know there is a restriction of 10, but the "Silver Rolo" is 34.95, and like the site says, its dead romantic.

Hi

Have you thought about an italian charm bracelet. They are are the new must have this summer, and are huge in the states and europe.  Check out www.gillyandstripes.co.uk they have a large selection of bracelets and charms at really cheap prices. They are brilliant as presents because you can make them a personal gift. Also it's a nice present that she can keep.
