Bt Converse 2100 Prob

Hello - I hope someone on AB can assist?

I have a newly purchased BT converse 2100 but the ringer only rings once before stopping. We have no 1571 / answer machine so I'm not sure why it does this. I have looked in the manual but cant see a solution.

Any ideas?

HI tony - I doubt it as although it only rings once if I pick it up (a few secs AFTER it stops ringing) I can still hear and have a covnersation. .

thanks tony. Yeah I think it is faulty. its just that before I sent it back I wondered if there was something / some setting I had wrong.

I doubt if there is a setting for that evedawn, it should ring until you pick it up or the answering machine cuts in.

Have you got more than 4 other phones as there is a limit as to how many ringers you can have operating. It should have a REN number and should say in the instruction book if there is a limit as to how many phones can ring. Other than something like that being the problem I would say it must be faulty.

nah furry this is the ONLY phone (beside our mobiles)

Mmmm, okay not that then. I have an earlier converse model and have never encountered a problem so guess it is a fault.

Hi,
if you have a mobile phone, unplug the converse from the socket, then ring your own number. if it rings out o.k then i would think its the converse, but if you have any other sockets in the house that have anything plugged into them, such as a sky box or even you hub, you should un plug them all, including filters, then ring your own number again.
just to make sure.

Ahh thanks annie. In the end tho in plugged in an unused phone and the fault was the same :( rang sky and its a line fault! I start a new work from home job tomo and have to have a landline so hope it gets fixed quickly!!!
