Is your DVD player a multi region model, if not it could be that the disc that you recorded is not a compatible region for your player.
Assuming that this is the same problem as your post here

The videos need to be converted to DVD format before you transfer them to disk. You can't just copy them from computer to disk and expect them to play.
There are quite a few free video conversion programs available that will do the job for you.

I have a Sanyo digital camera. I transferred my recordings to laptop, and these are the ones I now wish to copy on to dvd discs.

Thanks chrisgel for reminding me I posted a similar question last year. My old grey cells have failed me. Following that posting, I gave up on my old dvd player, and purchased a new one. But obviously something is not right with the way I am copying them. As you can tell I am not technically minded. Any suggestions are very welcome.
Some dvd players/recorders an play mp4, avi, divx etc.

What you might not have done is "finalised" the disk. That makes it readadble on any player.

My dvd recorder can record on both +RW and -RW I can use the +RW in a dvd player without having to finalise it.

I suggest you try both types of RW disk with all types of video format and find the ones that match.

Failing that you will have to turn your file into an actual Dvd. Nero would let you do that.

Hi sorry for the delay. If you have made any progress please let me know.
If not, do you still have the instructions or box from the DVD player? This will tell you exactly what types of video etc. it can play. You then need to check on your laptop to see what format the video files are in. If you need any help with this just let me know. I am suggesting this just to eliminate some possibilities.
