Interview dress: workwear or suit?
There was a first job interview for which a smart suit was worn by the (male) applicant; however, the (male) interviewer was wearing very neat 'workwear' clothes suitable for being in a dirty plant-operational area (open-neck denim shirt, etc).
The second interview will include a tour round the plant-operational area. The interviewer has (at the first interview) expressed the view that he doesn't want to employ a 'permanent suit wearer' who never leaves the office.
My feeling is that it would be best to turn up at the second interview wearing smart 'workwear' rather than a suit. Would anyone like to agree or disagree with this? I know some credible people who would say: Always wear a smart suit for job interviews!
