Fruit And Veg Boxes

Anyone have a regular delivery? If so, what are the good and bad points of your supplier?
I used to have one and really enjoyed getting a new challenge each week - I definitely ate more fruit/veg than I do now.
But eventually I got frustrated and cancelled, because I'm much more concerned about 'local' than about 'organic'.
Ideally I want local and organic - but if that's not possible, I'd rather have inorganic (non-organic?) onions from a couple of miles up the road than organic onions from Holland.
Also there is a limit to my enthusiasm for beetroot ... and butternut squash.

Hers is local and she loves the *surprise* and challenge of using everything.
God knows where I got her from...I just like Christmas and birthday surprises....that sort of thing.....x

I used to to get weekly deliveries from various companies but got fed up after a while and cancelled. One of the companies, Abel and Cole is STILL being VERY pushy and keeps phoning. I refuse to have anything more to do with them and their pushy sales attitude. Also, Jerusalem Artichokes are not for everyone are they? . They do have nasty repercussions... There's thunder in them thar hills, or so Yosemite Sam might say. If you can find a GOOD local supplier where you can CHOOSE your own fruit/veg, then give it a try. I find the winter is the best time for this as most of the fresh veg can then go straight into soups. Good luck.
