Home Bargains Terrys Gold Milk Chocolates at £1.99 for 380gms were not to be ignored either!

I have not noticed so many chocolate ads on recently maybe it's due to the obesity problem,but maybe on the run up to (you know what) we will be bombarded with them.I used to love the Fry's turkish delight one,I think it was truly wafted from paradise.

My comment was suggesting a resurgence in retro choc ads in general.

I'd welcome a return of Panama ads, they were brilliant!

I had to google 'Home Bargains' to find out who they are and where their nearest store is to me. (It seems to be in Colchester, which is about 25 miles away).

If we're looking for dramatic price comparisons, I've bought a Christmas pudding in Family Bargains (which is part of the same company as '99p Stores') for 99p in Stowmarket (Suffolk) and then seen the same product in Budgens in Sawston (Cambridgeshire) for £9.95!

Does anyone else remember Spartan Chocolates way back in the 70s/80s ? Can't recall who made them... may have been Terrys. They were all dark choc with hard centres, no creamy soft fillings.

You just have to watch the sell by dates at places like Home Bargains, it doesn't bother me but if you are buying them as a gift some people can funny about it.

Hi jkelly can't agree more excellent on prices but very often the use by dates aren't very far ahead thus buying in bulk and selling fast with use by date makes them cheaper.
