I usually search Currys for a model & size I prefer then compare prices on the Internet to find a good price then think about delivery costs etc.

I'd find a local auctioneer who does house clearances (and who, like my favourite auctioneer, is happy to tell people which items have come from house clearances). I might have to wait a week or two (assuming that the auctions are held weekly) before a suitable model came up, but I know that I'd probably get it for between £5 and £20.
