It`s to replace a micro system which I only ever listened to the radio part of but I do like the stereo sound. It must be DAB and FM and either stereo or with one good speaker. The sound is very important and I don`t want anything that sounds tinny. The Pure Evoke 2s is good but as I`m not paying for it, I wanted something a bit cheaper. Any suggestions?

You could do worse than look at the recent Which? reviews:

You have to subscribe to actually see the Best Buys...but the John Lewis Spectrum WAS a Best Buy and at a very good price.
...meant to say that you can order online and collect from your nearest Waitrose store (if you have one close enough, that is!)

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the whole Pure range is pretty good (although I gave my mum a mono Pure radio and it`s average). The Evoke 2s gets good reviews for the sound and that`s the main thing. It looks good too. I think I`ll stick with that.
