Is the End of Nintendo in sight? A 30% drop is massive and difficult to see how it could recover from this.
I have a wii and 2 playstations. The wii is well behind the playstation (and xbox) it simply does not have the same technology or use, grpahics are poor and games seem to be more for kids which is ok - but not going to keep you going in such ficke markets.
Me, I'd sell sell sell.

A 30% drop is, however, enough to damage investor confidence enormously. I hope it isn't the end as Nintendo still makes excellent games but I do fear the worst.

If I had shares in this company, I would asked to be sectioned.
Nintendo has been in decline since 2009. Smart phones and tablets do the low end gaming just as good but offer a lot more in a device as well. As a company they were very slow in adapting to the new threat. It was 'Game Over' last year.

Anyone still holding shares have not been taking much attention. The demise of this company has not been quick, it has been going downhill for 5 years.

"Smart phones and tablets do the low end gaming"
There's a world of difference between the kind of games available on handheld and the kind available on a phone.
Ultimately, I guess Nintendo has always been reliant on dedicated gamers (who have never gone away). Whether that's really enough anymore is an open question....

But you already have the phone and maybe the tablet. And a huge selection of games for less than £5. That is good enough for casual gamers.
Why would you pay £150 for a console and £30 per game? You wouldn't, which is why the 3DS sales tanked and why Nintendo is up sh1t Creek without a paddle.
The only hope for them is to port their games to iOS and Android.
