I had a Tesco money-off voucher for Douwe Egberts coffee (which we like), so I perused the shelves earlier today.

Today! 190 g. jars reduced to £4

or (wait for it)

NEW!!! 100g refills for £4.99!

Maybe its an intelligence test...?
Instant coffee? No grounds for complaint. :-)
boxtops, i had a genuine Tesco bargain today, courtesy of the shoppers who are too lazy to look at their receipts, or too posh to use the cash back receipts that Tesco issue,
I picked up three 'money back' reciepts from the trolleys on my way in, one for 97p, one £1.17 and one for 43p, handed them in when I paid for my shopping and had the money taken off my bill. X

Excellent, sparkles - I like your style!
The logic of supermarkets never ceases to amaze me. Recently in Asda, a 4 x pack of full size Mars bars were on offer for £1.00, while along the same shelf they had a 3 x pack of full size Mars bars for £1.79 !!
I recently saw butter at £2 a pack or 2 for £5. Bargain eh?
I think supermarkets rely on shoppers being short of time/harassed/numerically challenged to make their profits

I think so too - the BOGOF and "2 for" reductions are eye-catching. Don't be taken in!
That's a bargain. :-)
I have visions of Sparkles hunting through the lines of trolleys, looking for cash back receipts. :-)

I think I just might do that too, tilly :-)
Might be worth a bob or two, boxy. Mind you it will be a right faff, putting the pound in each slot to get to the twentieth trolley.

You can see through the wire mesh, tilly - I'll take a knitting needle with me (or a bent coathanger, LOL)
Do they accept shredded receipts?
^^^^ if you don't find any vouchers you could always nick a car.
Luckily my local Tesco doesn't have the coin trolleys, that would be a major bugbear, they really irritate me (although I understand the reasoning)
I didn't think of that, baza. I don't't have a criminal mind.
Neither my local Tesco, Co-op, nor Adsa have £1 trolleys. But Aldi, Lidl, and Home Bargains do. Is this telling me something about how these stores regard the type of people their customers are?
Question Author
I don't know the thinking in our Morrisons - they have taken away the coin trolleys, but decline to padlock the trolley sheds at night. Madness. They have already lost many trolleys at £200 a go, they're in the river, scattered round the town like confetti - we're just waiting fo one to be sent careering onto the busy main road that adjoins their car park:-(
