Duty free allowance

I'm off to dublin ( from England ) soon and was wondering what I can bring back in the way of booze, fags etc?

Ireland is in the EU so there are no duty free allowances.

You can bring back as much as like that you've bought in a normal shop, but theire are some guidelines, such as 10 cases of wine. But I don'tthink you're going to find Irish prices are anything like the bargain French prices are

Dublin IS NOT in the EU. So the normal limits apply as if you were travelling outside the EU i.e. to USA.

I'm not sure where Starman is getting his info from, but the Irish Republic is in the EU, and the last time I checked, (I was there last weekend) Dublin was still there, and they use Euros as currency. On the ferry, I have never been stopped and asked what I have brought back, but I agree with the others, some prices are higher than the UK.

Sorry folks, my mistake. I thought Southern Ireland was not a member of the EU. I've checked and can stand corrected that Dublin is in the EU. Feel free to slap me!!
