Htc Desire G7

I have an HTC Desire G7 phone, it is now about 10 months out of contract with Virgin Mobile and has now become my own, when turning on the phone it boots up by firstly displaying the HTC logo followed by the Virgin logo then takes you to the home screen, yesterday I turned it on as usual, the HTC logo appears then the Virgin logo appears then it freezes and will not boot up any further, I have tried repeatedly and I have also removed and replaced the battery but it is still the same, any Ideas please? also could a phone shop fix this cheaply
