here i go again off on another rant, bought karaoke machine over hols for my child, machine was faulty not fit to use , really if it had a small fault i could of held on, anyway when i bought it the item it was free delivery, now ive returned it to germany at my cost...!!!!
now ive just recieved trainers, wrong size and wrong description , i paid original postage £3.99 , the seller has agreed to a refund for item and has sent me return label ...but heres the catch, on top of return label it says paypal will charge me £5.89 to use this return label.
i am really really fuming and angry at this, im left to pay out a total of around £10 to return a *** useless pair of wrong fitting , not as described shoes ?
dear god give me strength....nev

I have never had a serious problem with ebay item. Just a pair of boots shown in photo as blue but they were black. I sold them to someone else.
I dont think people should beware of ebay and I have had loads of bargains and sold a lot of stuff too.

It's not just eBay.
My woman bought a number of phone chargers from a separate retailer, one charger didn't work. On writing to complain, and expecting the supplier to pay for the return of their faulty goods, she got a reply asking her to send the faulty one back. No evidence of a freepost label or whatever !
The whole world seems to want the extract the Michael out of whoever they think will put up with it, lately.
Why not query the return label with the seller, and maybe eBay & PayPal too ? Point out this is a return and PayPal has no right to be charging anything as you aren't using their service for a return ?

why should we as buyers ( i am a very very good buyer, 5 yrs buying power with 187 items and blue star )
why should we pay to return if a idiot seller sells you a faulty item or a wrong size ? why should i even sell them on ? no !! its wrong of ebay, ebay should tell sellers if they send wrong or faulty item to anyone then it is their responsibility to ensure they sen a free return label otherwise they will be banned from selling, is that not the most fair and sensible thing to do ?

Ebay just wants to provide a marketplace and aren't really interested in what deals buyers and sellers make. In my experience they just want to just wash their hands of issues. Any progress getting them to accept responsibility for anything has been gutwrenchingly slow. Maybe it's changed since my last problem with them, but somehow I doubt it.
ok calm down! ;-) I sell a lot on ebay am a business seller, power seller and Top Rated seller. When you return an item do it through the Resolution Centre, never return things privately. The laws on distant selling state that if you return an item because it is faulty or not as described (as opposed to changing your mind) the seller must pay for the return -look at Ebay returns policy for all the details. Once you go through the Resolution Center for a return, and show proof of return then Ebay will refund you the full amount including your postage and they will deduct this from the Sellers PayPal account. If the goods are damaged its also a good idea to take photos.
It is against consumer law and ebay policy to expect sellers to pay postage to return faulty or not as described items.

I stopped using eBay years ago after a few bad experiences from sellers.
eBay has had its' day. The bubble has burst for me.
More hassle than it's worth. Can't be bothered with it now.
There was one seller that I used to buy stuff from (music) but he stopped trading a few years back. Shame really because I never had any issues from him and the quality of the CDs & Vinyl LPs were great to mint condition.
I now shop elsewhere, both online and the high street.

You want to try being a seller on Ebay its a nightmare. Buyers have much more safeguards on Ebay if they play by the rules and there are loads of stories going around the forums of buyers who claim empty boxes were sent and Ebay refunds them and then charges the seller. I've had emails from people demanding part refunds of they will give me bad feedback -I offer full refunds and pay the return postage but no they just wanted a partial refund. I've had buyers saying things were damaged then you hear nothing more from them when you send detailed photos showing no damage. Then you get rival shops buying a small item and giving low detailed scores to try and get your top rated seller status changed. I agree I think EBAy how it used to be is just about finished -Ebay want and encourage the large business users as obviously they get more commission. I've started selling on Etsy and can achieve higher prices on there but you have to wait 10 days to get money released into your account.
retrochic how can you have a non payer ? i pay via paypal for my items before they are dispatched .
thank frog, i will open a case on all items from now on, though how do i open a case ? i notice if i leave bad feedback then ebay asked me was i not happy with my item , is this how you open a case ????

ebay is really not a good place to buy, maybe sometimes you get a decent seal but for clothes i will now shop on high street.
