Many years ago I worked with a man who had been a jeweller. He said the markup was 100% plus. Whether the same applies to watches I don't know.

Anyone who tries to run a retail shop with a less-than-100% markup is going to go bust, it doesn't matter what he's selling.

Yes it's usually a 100% mark up. Buy a fake for a tenner.
