60s and 70s fancy dress

Hi there,

I have a 60s and 70s fancy dress party coming up and i have no idea what to wear! the only stuff i can find in shops isnt the kind of thing you would wear to a family party if you see what i mean. does anyone have any ideas of some sort of emsemble i could wear using clothes that are in the shops just now and not too expensive. unfortunately i wasnt around in those days so dont really know what would look authentic.

any help would be greatly appreciated. x

fideldyfee I'm hoping you are female or this will be a total waste of time!!

For 60's you could look for one of those tunic tops (with long flared sleeves) that covers your bottom (!) & wear it as a dress with a chain belt.  A bright colour or black & white would be great.  Knee high boots & add a large floppy hat that you might find at a boot sale or charity shop. Oh & heavy on the eye make-up!
