Tv,broadband/phone Bundles

Are TV,Broadband/phone bundles always the best way to go or could better value be obtained by splitting the services between different companies? For instance could a better deal be obtained by having TV with one company and having Broadband/Phone with another. WE are led by various companies advertising their offers but as soon as they have you the price goes up and you caught in a contract.
Am i talking rubbish when i suggest that better offers can be obtained by splitting the services. Thanks

Most companies give a huge discount on first joining for a certain amount of time. What could be tempting now might not be 6 months or a year down the line.
