Gumtree Advice Please
14 Answers
We sold a bike on Gumtree 4 weeks ago now the chap is saying he wants his money back (despite him saying, by text, just after he bought it how pleased he was with it)
Is he entitled to a refund, will Gumtree want to get involved in a dispute over it?

He said he'd had it 'looked at' and it needed a new sensor, Mr M offered to pay half for this which was £50, he then rang to say sensor is now £70, Mr M said fine and offered £35. Now he wants a full refund of £200. Money is long gone and will be hard for us to find but is he entitled to it? If he is we'll have to find it. How do we know he's not damaged it? Life's never easy is it?
How long has he had it?
Not that it really matters.......He's chancing his arm. He could have done anything to it whilst it's been in his possession.
Just (as politely as you are inclined) tell him that not only will you not be refunding his £200 but you are no longer going to enter into any further talks with him on the matter.
You might have to put your foot down with a firm hand but don't let him try to hoodwink you, or bother you. :o)
