Christmas Cards With No Envelopes

I am feeling very annoyed!! :(
Has anyone else been caught out like me this year. For the past few weeks I have been buying my large "specials" Christmas cards for relatives and special friends from Supermarkets, card shops and garden centres etc whenever I saw appropriate ones (which reminds me, aren't there so many awful cards with absolutely "yukky" words this year?)
I have just sorted them all out and would you believe it - there are 3 cards which do not have envelopes with them, these cards are part covered in cellophane so I just assumed the envelope would be inside! GRRR I can't take them back as some were from weekends away in October from garden centres etc miles away and some I have no idea which shop I bought them from! I paid a lot for each - about £3.99 or more!!! They are such large unusual sizes I can't find any envelopes to fit so I will either have to make my own envelope which looks really amateurish or wrap them in wrapping paper!!

I won't be caught like that again but I suppose it was my fault for not checking - I certainly will do next time! Has this ever happened to you?

Yes, this has happened to me several times !!! Even though I am aware of the problem, I have still done it. I don't know if it's my age making me forget about it again, or whether it's because it has been inbuilt to my brain, that cellophaned cards contain an envelope. Another thing I have noticed is, on the back of individual cards, there is an envelope symbol saying small or large letter postage rate. When I checked the size at the Post Office, I found a lot marked as large, actually fitted in the small space. Therefore I have been done on two counts !!!!
it has happened to me too.

I think I'm going to send my friends the one I bought them (without an envelope!) wrapped in pretty silver patterned tissue paper. It cost £4.50 so too expensive to waste! I will explain to them what happened ....
Ann I work in a card shop and I go through this daily.

If you like I can see if I could get you some envelopes as we have a massive box but I realise with the strike coming up it might not get to you on time even if I did special delivery.
Has happened to me Ann, yes. When I see the cellophane, I assume an envelope is inside too ! I'm more careful now.
