Morning Tonyav....not heard from you for a while !
My next down brother had the Batmobile.
But the main aspect about those days, was that you probably had one of these at Xmas, but not all of them. If these were still available today. most kids I know will have them all !
My little great nephew, who is only 5, will have loads and loads of stuff at Xmas, mostly coming from his maternal grandparents, who spoil him terribly. He can't possibly play with them all. Last year he was unwrapping presents at a cracking pace, discarding each one immediately, and then moving on to the next.
The contrast to the 50's and 60's is that when I opened that Spirograph, it was played with straightaway.....mainly because, apart from some selection boxes and maybe a couple of books, it was my only present.
I don't know what to get him this year, I really don't. I don't really want to add to that mountain of wrapping paper, so I think it will be a book voucher from W H Smiths ( if they still do things like book vouchers ! )
