Go to your nearest Go Outdoors shop and ask for some advice. Superdry are fashion coats , not dog walking coats.

My Daughter in Law and Son do lots of hill walking and dog walking and they both have always bought Superdry clothing.

Being a teenager, my boy treated his like a rag but it will last for boy #2 and probably thing 2 - sign up to the website and get one that's 'last season'. They all have 3-in-1 coats now but they're heavy and the arms all bunch up somehow.

A parka is what I'm looking for Tony...but probably on eBay. I refuse to pay full price...ouch!

I'm not really bothered by labels...but superdry kept coming up in my searches.

Berghaus are expensive for a reason. They're proper all weather coats. Super dry are fairly good quality but they are fashion coats rather than serious walking coats which will keep you dry and warm in the worst of weathers.

Long lasting, tough as nails, easy to care for. Had one for 35 years, still in good nick.

I'd recommend your nearest Mountain Warehouse, had a fab winter coat from there recently and at a fraction of the cost of a Superdry.

You need a good waxed jacket, Barbour are very expensive but many quite cheap one on the market, they also come in full length coats.

The first purchase I made on eBay was a wax jacket. Not Drizabone,but a good brand. Much as I liked it,it never kept me warm,and it felt cold to the touch. It ended its days hanging in my spare room...where it became mouldy. My flat was a bit on the damp side...:-(

Wax jackets and coats are cold unless it has a good lining. These are often sold separately.
