It looks like canvas but equally might be some kind of synthetic...... Its listed as new with tags and with an rrp so deffo not genuine vintage

Thanks all, I have googled cotton Canvas but still cant find that heavy grade material.

Woof, I wasn't really interested in buying that bag, just the material so I can make my own of my own requirements.

Ive looked at all of the above but cant find anything as heavy, I may just buy the bag off ebay and have done with it. Its not far off what I want to be honest, I think I would have just enjoyed making one as well. Oh well.

The bag will probably outlive you. Lord knows where mine came from but both my sons used it as satchels & its covered in autographs from their friends.

mallyh, thanks, however, I didnt want to buy one, I wanted to make one to my own spec, I just wanted the material.

Anyway, I just ordered the one off ebay, yes I'm impatient!

There are lots of Army Style Retro Bags on the market and most are made from High Density Cotton Canvas. However, it doesn't seem that the actual material is available on the Internet, unless bought in large quantities from USA.
