Hi All
Just thought I'd pop this little gem on here with regard to an Epson printer of mine. Last week it would not pick up any photo paper (240gsm). In the end I had an online chat with somebody from Epson, who asked me a whole raft of questions and then told me he considered the printer was at fault. He then said he would give me a price for a service, wait for it .....................£118. !!
He then suggested I might be better off buying a new printer. As I said, just thought I'd pop this on here and give everybody a laugh. Bye for now.

As a long time Epson user I know that not all Epson paper works with every Epson printer - if you search by your model on the Epson site you'll find the ones compatible with your printer.
If its a non-Epson paper then it may be too heavy for your printer.
If its worked in the past then could be the pickup rollers are worn.
Always Canon inkjet printers for home use - don't touch anything else.
Just about to buy a new Canon model as I gave my four year old Pixma to my friend to replace his troublesome Epson.
I had so many issues with two Epsons and switched to Cannon which is fine, though the genuine cartridges are eye-wateringly expensive.
But 240g x A4 is pretty hefty stuff, more like card than paper.
sub question; Does anyone have domestic printer that will happily accept that weight?
I use 240 gpaper on my epson, as long as it isnt the last sheet in the drawer it seems to work most times. I always use Epson, wouldn't use anything else!!

I've never had trouble with any of my printers, HP, Canon and Epson, using 240 gsm photo paper, until now. Just bought a new Epson, so far so good.
