I have now received a phone call from the large DIY company who say the suppliers want £50 to deliver it to the store. Can they do this ? I know shops have a right of refusal to sell to anyone but it seems morally wrong. I have cancelled the order

Odd that a large Company didn't know their suppliers terms, they should have absorbed the costs to keep the sale - take your custom elsewhere Sue.
Depends how the prices are posted in store, most places will tell you up front. Seems a bit cheeky to add this on after the event, so us someone trying to pull a fast one?
Did the store state that it was free delivery?

Tehy have just told us their mistake and they will bear the cost
Would have thought a large business would have known their suppliers' t&c's.
I'm thinking someone is trying to pull a fast one.

Hope you cancelled with no penalty.
As they should Sue, well done.

........although there was nothing to say about delivery costs on purchase. I somehow suspect this was their mistake re the £50 and they are trying to save face. Never heard of it before with this company!
Thank you all for help
