When I was in today I couldn't believe the amount of men working there - about 20 and 10 women. Just standing about. literally and idly too

I know they would be involved in lifting heavy equipment etc but people don't buy everyday.

Also what do 9 receptionists do in a doctor's surgery - they take calls do a small bit of paperwork connected to the calls. but after that - what?

When I was a typing manager I had a pool of 22 of women - some nice and some *** and life was hard but as soon as I walked into the office - I never stopped until I dropped and on my way home My day was full.

I don't think staff are buoyancy are willing or something. If somebody else will do it - that's ok by me - I think that's the attitude.

The lady with me today couldn't get the security nut off the headphones. Another colleague took them off who still proceeded to say - I shouldn't be here. I looked at the vast building and saw 25 staff. Wondered where she was going. Think the staff do genuinely feel they the "bees knees".

Curry's/PC World staff are generally a pain in the backside.

They seem to be everywhere until you want to ask someone a question, when they suddenly disappear.

When you do finally get to ask your question they won't know the answer until they've spent ages looking up things on their computer.

Then, when they tell you that the item isn't in stock, all you get is a blunt "We haven't got it" (rather than "I'm very sorry but it's not in stock at the moment. However we could get it in tomorrow for you if you'd like"

If you use their service department they'll charge you 50 quid for a 'repair' that takes them 30 seconds.

Alternatively they'll rush to re-format your hard drive and completely reinstall Windows (when there's absolutely no need to do so), without telling you that you'll lose all your documents, images and other files in the process.

The only national technology firm with reliable staff (who really know their stuff) is, regrettably, in the process of closing down. (I'll really miss Maplin's)

that's right Chris - did not read my post Cordless Headphones - I went to Currys today and if you read the post it is quite similar to what you have posted.
I'd missed your other post, JennyJoan, but now that I've read it I see that their staff in Northern Ireland are just as useless as they are in East Anglia!

Hopefully it should be worth the hassle though, as I'm confident that you'll really like the headphones. (As usual at this time of night, I'm using mine right now to listen to internet radio from my computer).

while I've got you Chris - I tried to charge earlier and got bits and pieces correct wires in and out of AV and socket etc

that was about 6 o'clock - a red light came up then after 10 mins a green light came up - so I thought it was charged but think it was too short. headphones didn't work

I think what I was doing wrong I didn't turn off the headphone on the actual headphone. So tried it all again and now the transmitter is still red which means it is still charging. Would that be right - if it is wrong I will try something else tomorrow Thanks
An initial full charge takes around 16 hours, after which the red light should go out.
wow cool
wow cool this is thethis curry ???? or are us talking about something else, let me know or i can change my answer
?
totally agree about unhelpful staff..ditto PC World....when looking for new lappie went on a lookabout..ended up in currus as there was a good offer on for the one I wanted, they gave me a hard sell on "extras" ie Office..mail progs... all sorts of stuff, most of which was gobblygook to me but would have doubled the price ! I put office on myself from my external hard drive..a kind engineer had downloaded the installation for me..sshhhh... and as for anti virus there are sufficient available for free..and gmail does me fine... I have a friendly computer tech that I use for any problems.. I trust her and she is reliable and half the price !
Never had an issue with Curry's staff or GP staff - perhaps its how you interact with them that makes a difference.
absolutely not... everyone I speak to says the same thing !!
I agree. Open Office, which is available to download free, is just as good as Microsoft Office. It's what I use. Also Yahoo email does me just fine. I buy from Amazon so I don't get the hard sell.
would not have gone into Currys but for the offer that was on £200 off !
Your comment about letting someone else to do it sounds about right, where I work very few people want to help anyone else out, it really annoys me because I was brought up, to help other people and to work, the work ethic in people these days have gone missing.
That's disappointing Fraser I work in an office with 50 other people we are all case workers and are led by rules and restrictions laid down by the government - but each and everyone of those person would bend over backwards to help someone if they needed it.
9 receptionists? I've only ever seen 3 receptionists at ours. And how do you know how much paperwork they need to do?

they do Jordy..but ..there are exceptions to that ... some online and discount shops are excepted from that... I have found...
John Lewis is very good. Their customer service is fantastic. Not sure about prices though.
