My wifes swanning off to the Palace soon for afternoon tea with Maj as a recognition for her work commemorationg WW1. As a total fashion Philistine could someone advise me if fascinators are considered a younger persons accessory.
No they are for all ages and for those that don't think they can where a hat.
Personally I prefer hats especially if going to the palace.
My husband calls them excitors!
They seem universal age wise, but to me a waste of time..wear a hat.... I love hats... Her Majesty always wears nice hats and the occasion is sufficiently formal...
My mum wore one for my sister s wedding it looked like avian roadkill, I had a huge lilac hat, but was still out hatted by a member of the groom's family who looked like a dark blue toadstool.
I think a hat is more appropriate for meeting the Queen at the Palace, but I guess it's a bit too late to worry about it now. Fascinators are ok for all ages, except me; I'd feel ridiculous in one, but then I would feel ridiculous wearing a hat too.
