If all off a sudden 3 separate sections of a long string of LED fairy lights have failed but sections inbetween are alight what's gone wrong?

Bit early innit?
Question Author
I have them round the conservatory on timer all year round, beautifully tacky x
There are tutorials on youtube on how to fix them....if you can be bothered.

A led fairy doesn't sound light at all !

LED light strings are more complex than traditional ones. They probably have more wires to create different flashing patterns. Something dodgy with the connections in one could be causing centre bits to fail. May as well replace ?
you have only paid a third of your electricity bill. :-)
I suspect that some bulbs may have blown so the circuit is not continuous but being a dinosauar I am not au fait with fairy lights on LED. The old conventional fary lights had a fused bulb in the cicuit. Sorry. Not much help. As I wrote on an earlier thread it is a throwaway society and LED string lights are not too dear to replace
A loose connection ?the 3 sections could all be on the same circuit.
(I have seen such a set) How many sections in total?
Question Author
Ok, there are 2 separate sets, probably 6m each.
First set misses 1st and 3rd section
Second misses 2nd and 6th section
This has happened all at once and only event (well it was a huge event at the time) is 2 jackdaws came down the chimney 5 minutes apart and went berserk crashing into everything including all round the conservatory windows.
They flew out open windows/door eventually.

Well, that changes everything.
Ignore my earlier replies.
That was a queer thing to happen, wasn't it. Lucky you weren't snoozing in there at the time, Lol.
Depending on how the bulbs are seated the flapping birds could have dislodged a few from being seated correctly, thereby knocking out a section.

Go along the string checking each one.

This is of course unless it's a rope light, which I tend to sling when they play up.

Pursue - the conservatory thing. So did i. So pretty and a nice soft light.

Sorry can't help.

I will have a look over the weekend although I didn't think LEDS were affected by bulb twiddling. Thanks for answers

And the jackdaws don't change your earlier replies Talbot (you know this), I actually will look on youtube.
