Boots Price Vary Depending On Branch?

I bought an eye drops for astonishing £15 from a large Boots store. I thought is very expensive but I can't judge on medicine. But as I was going home and realised there is another smaller Boots store on the opposite of the road. I went in and asked how much does the eye drops cost. They said its around £9. Then I I asked why the other store is charging more?

Then the staff at the smaller store says £15 is right. I wonder they have changed the story to protect their interest.

So anyone know if the price varies with different branches? If so, I will use smaller branch next times.

At the end of the day Boots is to make a profit, so it's probably not their fault to have a variable price and not a fixed price.
It is down to us to decide to buy it or not. I was out of desperation this morning as the eye was so red and soar.
So best is to ask the price and prepared to walk away and get it from another store. Lessons learned.
I thought Hylo-Forte was prescription only
Depends which branch of Boots you use. :-)
:D
Yes, OK....you're willing to believe that counter-staff in Boots arbitrarily (after perusing your face) decide how much to charge you....despite everything being bar-coded, scanned and computerised.
Is it just me that thinks this OP is way off the mark?
Ginge, I pointed out on the previous page, the remark about looking at a customer's face was in reference to being a tourist in the east.

it's all about profit and how much you can extract from a customer. It depends on the retailers policies. It may be that the staff are in a commission bases to charge as much as possible by judging on a customer affordability. These are done in the Far East, if you don't believe go to somewhere like Thailand and then you will know that the tourist pay a mega price compared with the locals. Their price tags are coded to reflect prices for locals and non-locals. How can they tell this? They look at the customer's face....
mamy....but also said about staff (in Boots) looking at me and using a calculator to decide how much profit margin to make....
I can assure you, newbie, that does not happen in Boots!
newbie....this isn't the Far East. Everything in Boots is bar-coded, scanned and priced centrally....individual staff CANNOT decide how much to charge.
If you think Boots is like market traders in the middle east, try haggling.

Never mind I am pulling my hair!!
This was what happened and I have no reason to paint a bad picture of Boots. I will continue to use them as I believe they provide a good service in their opticians dept.
As I said it is down to me to ask the price next time and decide to buy it or not.
