Can Someone Spy On Me Via My Laptop
10 Answers
Ok so I am a conspiracy theorist ... and probably one of the worst kind lol ... Cos I’m not even that educated or clever.
Anyway here’s my question :
Can someone see if I’ve tried to log onto their website and thereafter access my laptop?
(I TOLD you I was an annoying conspiracy theorist lol!)
I tried (and was blocked ) fro
Accessing a website (a website easily available via google search in the past btw).
The message said something like “error 404 you are not authorised to view this page “.... or something along those lines anyway
Then literally within seconds I got a msg flash up on my screen asking me to enter the password for my yahoo email address (which incidentally contains info for the legal case)...
Am I a nutter for asking ? But IS there anyway this person could have seen I tried to view his website and then sent me a phishing msg asking for my password?
Ps-
This is a person / company with whom we have a legal court case (he’s suing us / we are suing him blah blah )

However if your anti-virus and anti-malware programs aren't up-to-date then it's possible for a dodgy website to dump malware on your computer which will give remote access to your computer to unauthorised users. If that happens then, depending upon the nature of the malware, they might be able to
(a) view all the files on your computer ; and/or
(b) monitor the keystrokes on your computer (to gain passwords, etc) ; and/or
(c) turn on your webcam (without the little 'on' light illuminating), so that they can view your movements without you knowing.
However none of that is likely in the situation you describe. You probably simply tried to access a page that's only available to people logged in to Yahoo's server. You could then initially get a message that you weren't entitled to view the page, followed quickly by an invitation to log in.
If your security software is up-to-date you've got nothing to worry about.

I've had those though Eve and have been told they're usually a dead link rather than anything sinister https:/ /en.wik ipedia. org/wik i/HTTP_ 404
