What Air Conditioners Are Recommended?
TL;DR: What air conditioners do you recommend? I'd appreciate brand, model, and price, but honestly anything to springboard my search further than searching "Air Conditioner" on Amazon will help.
My state's entering a massive heatwave and with my current medical problems intense heat won't kill me but it will be more than annoying. So far I've countered it by lowering the main air conditioner temperature in my house (a somewhat recent mobile home), bringing a standing fan between rooms, and always having a paper fan in my pocket (bought like 30 of them in a bulk purchase, still don't regret it since they do tend to break), but it's getting hotter and hotter, now opening the window to cool off by airing the room out isn't even an option.
I've finally swallowed my pride that what I currently have isn't going to help, deciding to buy a second air conditioner, one that either stands near the window with a little shaft going through it or is just straight up in the window. Looking on Amazon, I almost found what I was looking for, but after reading the reviews I was quick to remove a $399 water damage hazard from my wish list (I can't replace the floor on my paycheck so nope).
My budget isn't really strict for this one, I'd like to buy something under $500 but I'm willing to go over for a lasting product with good quality. Of course I'll need to cut back for a bit to get it, but I'm hoping to get something before the middle of August so I can reward myself from lasting the bulk of the heatwave without it and prepare for another since California, for how fun it is to live here where everyone is crazy and you can see any kind of natural location just by turning in any direction and going for about 500 miles, is not known for White Christmases, April Showers, or anything other than Dry, Hot, and Earthquake in regards to weather.
If you know a specific brand or model I should look for, I'd appreciate it. If you can find a link to purchase one from Amazon, Best Buy, or other retailers that have decent policies for delivery and/or in store pickup, I'll be more than grateful. If you got anything that can at least point me in a good direction of what to look for when shopping for this thing, that's awesome and thank you.
Also, power isn't too big of a concern for me right now. My county has had multiple outages lately, but somehow the place I live is almost never effected (except that one time, and we don't talk about it unless it's October because it makes spooky things even spookier). It's at to a point where whenever an outage happens the first call I get is a friend wanting to come over and stick their face in the fridge for five minutes and then sitting on the couch while we watch Hulu. It's dumb luck or a gift from Rah the Sun God, so don't be concerned about how much power the air conditioner takes up. I rather be cold for a few hours than use that electricity to give another 10 hours to ATLUS's game about burning bread (I'm sorry, let me cringe with you).
